The kid wants to be they instead of he or she, not difficult for the teacher to just call them that, doesn't mean they have to agree with any of it.
His whole argument is just bollocks to justify his prejudice, where in the bible does it say you aren't allowed to call someone they if they prefer it.

Classic Daily Mail. Painting it like he’s been jailed for not using the kid’s preferred pronoun.
What he’s actually jailed for is contempt of court. He violated an injunction for staying off school grounds after being placed on paid administrative leave. He didn’t listen. He made that decision to break court orders and he has no one to blame but himself. All because he refused to say “them” and “they”.
jeepers...I cannot believe some of these comments....children are boys OR girls and should be addressed as such.
If in much later life they choose to deviate then so be it.....but not at that age...it is called PRINCIPLE.
Surely it should be up to the parents to either support or discourage their child as they see fit in this scenario. Not a teacher. “Transgenderism is against my Christian Belief” (I don’t think it even comes up in the bible but I’m sure someone can correct me if I’m wrong). His argument for not using the pronoun isn’t in protection of the child but because he prioritises his religious values over the child’s personal opinions.
I wonder how you or the Daily Mail would react if a Muslim teacher tried to enforce their religious views on schoolchildren….
People are assigned one of 2 genders when the midwife first takes a look at a newborn and checks their undercarriage.
If that newborn, later on in life, decides they're not what they were assigned at birth, why should anyone else question that decision?

They can...but not at that age......and why should someone else have to pander to whims.......they have a penis or they do not...end of story.

If a Muslim had objected to using 'They' then the Daily Mail would've been championing the 'right' of all 'fair minded' Britons to express themselves or be identified in any way they see fit, because this UK isn't a dictatorship.
