You don't really believe that in a £6m drug operation, where the police also uncovered £2.5m in cash, that Maxwell was only getting £500 a month?Originally posted by Dorcus View PostFor just £500 a month. Surely he's got shit for brains for not realising how disproportionate the risk to reward was?
If he came clean about his true rewards it would trigger a 'Proceeds of Crime' against him, he could end up losing everything (even assets he perhaps earned from his playing career).

"But his career never took off - and he joined a cocaine crime gang as he slipped down the leagues." As you do...
Sounds like a big dealing operation. If he was getting just £500 a month, maybe he was getting a lot of free charlie/crack. Perhaps he was an addict and they took advantage

I read that chapter from freakanomics. Interesting but I wasn't convinced that dealers were as poor as claimed.Originally posted by OurManFlint II View PostHaven't read the article but read a book years ago; Gang Leader for a Day: Sudhir Venkatesh. Which prompted a chapter in Freakanomics:Why drug dealers still live with their moms. Turns out that in large drug operations, rank and file don't actually make that much money.
