Digging out Bale on TV, telling the world that his last few years at Madrid were a joke, he clearly prefers golf and is uninterested in doing it anymore at the highest levels.
Just sounded like a bitter and twisted old man. Completely uncalled for really, and no need to do it.
We need a charity boxing match between him and Keano, I'd love to see Roy give the bitter old twat a pasting.
Anyone remember ITV ‘s panel of pundits at the 1970 World Cup where Malcolm Allison and Brian Clough used to battle each other to see who could be the most controversial? There’d be Derek Dougan and Pat Crerand as well there to keep things bubbling nicely. Now, fifty two years later, it seems ITV are going for the same approach, but whereas Allison and Clough were natural performers who would also talk sense among all of the headline grabbing stuff - Keane and Souness are just negative for the sake of it. Keane can be a good watch at times, but Souness offers nothing - his time has gone and he should just be remembered now as the man who gave Ali Dia a game in the Premier League.

I hate this shouty punditry, they're obviously putting on an act, because who really gives a ****? Sure, analyse the game, show us things from a professional perspective, but don't turn into some kind of weak parody, which is what it seems like to me. Personally, i couldn't care less what they have to say, i watch the game then switch off at the final whistle. But i do understand that plenty of people enjoy the punditry and that it adds to the occasion. But it is starting to get a bit 'old hat' and reactionary, and dare i say Boring?

This pre dated Clough in 1970. He wasn’t a pundit in 1970. I remember Clough calling Jan Tomaszewski a clown before England played Poland in that incredible WC qualifier in 1973.
Tell you what, as much as I dislike him, Michael Owen is now a decent pundit - we have him here in Africa on DSTV Supersports.
He used to be wooden and awful... but now he is pretty good, really honest and quite brutal - much better than the pundits on the streams I get from the UK.

Does he still have the habit of ending all his sentences with an inflection when assigned a 'co-commentar' role?
