Just watching it now, it's a very illuminating documentary.

It's changed my view of Bobby Robson. What a wonderful man; he has my utmost respect.

Such a decent man

Whilst I thought clough and ferguson were great managers they clearly had a bullying side

Bobby Robson seemed a different breed

Particularly during the end stages of his life his dignity and humanity shone through brilliantly. I really enjoyed that documentary.

I remember him walking outside NP and us city fans were chanting his name. Not many former England managers would get that level of respect.

He once told a story about Gazza and how bright he was.

He said after an England training day a coach came out and said he'd better go in the changing room because Gazza was sitting all on his own crying.
Bobby Robson went to see what was wrong and Gazza handed him a letter he was holding, which BR read. He said Gazza was upset because he'd just found out that his sister had 2 brothers and he only had one. :getscoat:

And The Scum (Sun) had him as a turnip when England lost in Sweden 1992 Euros. They were really bang out of order as usual.

Bobby Robson referred to Bryan Robson on national TV as his "best player" in the middle of Italia '90. He went down in my estimation after that.

The Sun had In The Name Of Allah Go (or something similar) for Robson before Italia 90, think England had drawn with Saudi Arabia.

he's held in higher esteem in Ipswich that Ramsey which is saying something given Ramseys achievements.
