  • Wales Online

First I'm reading a nonsense article about City players that involves talk of whether Sean Morison could adapt to our current style of play, and whether we'd have to play 3 at the back to 'accomodate' him...

And then, "BREAKING NEWS!"... Ashley Banjo and his partner of 16 years have decided to split!

Seriously, the first part and reading that shite was bad enough, the second part just made me wonder why the feck I even bother...

Who gives two shits about Ashley fecking Banjo's relationship status?
And how on god's earth does that merit "BREAKING NEWS!" status?

F*ck off Wales Online, what a bag of shite.

Exactly. Apparently his relationship status is worthy of "BREAKING NEWS!"

        Re: Wales Online

On my Google newsfeed I'll see a story from Wales online, click on it and it'll be a story from the north east of England or the Midlands. They're sharing more shit as clickbait.

When I click on a WOL story I'd expect to be taken to a story in Wales

"Hero dog bites burglar and saves family Xmas amid cost of living crisis"

Think to myself, I'll click on that, ends up being in bloody Coventry or something.

Many of the light-hearted stories that WOL publish online these days they seem to source from a FB group called Angry People in Local Newspapers.
WOL must have an employee who sifts through that group, copying various links and posting it on their own newsreel.

Its terrible. We havent even had an article about David Bishop for about 3 months or Wales Rugbys hardest players for a few days.

Besides the woeful content and the clickbait headlines, I find both the website and app almost unusable. The app crashes regularly and the website is probably the slowest and least responsive I've used in the last 20 years.

Theres an article on there at the moment about a woman who charges her family for Xmas dinner.

I mean how do they get these crap stories?

The comment sections are always full of angry probably old Tory types as well.

People don't buy newspapers. Hence the rise in clickbait. I can't see many people kicking off due to the low quality of articles.

Very true about the comments section. It’s as if the contributors are in a ‘Who’s the most Nazi like’ competition. I read them if I’m feeling too laid back and calm just to liven myself up.

                          It's crap

I grew up with the western mail in the morning Monday to Saturday and latterly the Wales on Sunday

I binned the Wales on Sunday years ago and now I just get a Saturday edition of the western mail as the Welsh media is dominated by garbage Sun and Daily Mail type news and rugby crap . The rugby crap is relentless .

The problem is Wales online is just more of the same so I don't bother .

It's no surprise out of a population of 3 million about 12000 read the national daily newspaper . I know newspapers are dying out but I enjoy reading from paper rather than a screen .

But the standard of Welsh print and digital media is absolutely shocking .

Sure is. Myself I can't get enough of ugly 5g masts, potholes, hi-viz jackets, local action groups holding fake speed guns in their village, parking problems near schools, or overgrown hedges.
Shouldn't though be a source of news for what used to call itself the National newspaper of Wales. 🙄

                              It's criminally embarrassing

When are they going to stop printing the Western Mail and Echo

It must be losing them loads of money

The Swansea based South Wales Evening Post is a far superior paper
