So in that case you’ll get what you deserve.

      It is what it is.

Haven't read a newspaper since I was eating tea and toast in my nans before going off to school 20+ years ago. They're shite.

When are they going to stop printing the Western Mail and Echo

It must be losing them loads of money

The Swansea based South Wales Evening Post is a far superior paper
Both the echo and the evening post are owned by Reach Plc and both are Wales online.

The paper you buy from a shop in neath is a vastly superior paper to the south wales echo you buy in Bridgend

I can't really comment on Wales online as I don't click on it these days

              Re: Wales Online

Wales Online is poor - but better than the Sheffield Star and Yorkshire Post online sites that I regularly see.

The print version of the Echo (which I buy every time I come down to a home game) is much better than the Sheffield and Coventry papers that I also read a fair bit. The Sheffield Star tried a few years ago to reinvent local investigative journalism - but with national ownership and hardly any real journalists employed it didn't last. The editor still gets onto the Sky or BBC paper reviews now and again, but her USP has gone. The Coventry Telegraph (my partner is from Coventry) is abysmal - makes the Echo look brilliant.

Local newspapers are dying out - with the online versions becoming indistinguishable. Few or no local journalists, national content (often clickbait) and reliance on press releases for stories. The bar is incredibly low - but the Echo is far from the worst.

When I click on a WOL story I'd expect to be taken to a story in Wales

"Hero dog bites burglar and saves family Xmas amid cost of living crisis"

Think to myself, I'll click on that, ends up being in bloody Coventry or something.
It’s because WO and a huge amount of various local newspapers; Coventry Echo, Kent Times, Sunderland News, etc are all owned by Reach Media. They copy and paste the same stories to multiple of their sites to increase the amount of content and clicks. Most of their news stories are the cheapest and quickest regurgitated crap they can pump out.
