Re: Mark Mcguinness
Ng has been getting progressively worse. He keeps dropping off miles behind the line and playing people onside. Drameh ain’t coming back here! He’s been linked with bigger and better thingsOriginally posted by Rjk View PostI don’t think we can say that he improves our starting XI, Ng has been good there, as has kipre.
I would try to get Drameh back on loan and another left back in and leave the central defence well alone

Re: Mark Mcguinness
Agreed. NG often plays people on and gets outmuscled regularly. He’s a full back.Originally posted by Pedro de la Rosa View PostNg has been getting progressively worse. Re: Mark Mcguinness
I saw recently that we had 3 apologies for refereeing decisions in that game against Blackpool - I know not wholly relevant but thought I'd mention it 😂😂Originally posted by AfricanBluebird View PostI like Ng but he gets bullied and outjumped when up against some of the more 'robust' and experienced forwards in this division. I like him as one of 3 CB's, but not in a 2. Truthfully, he is responsible for a few of the goals we have conceded recently, Blackpool as an example, just because he didn't have the physical presence to compete. If we are playing opposition without the traditional No.9 then I would have Ng in no problem, but MM looks a much better option with Ng at right back in the absence of Romeo.
But I would also have Drameh back in a flash.

Re: Mark Mcguinness
Eric, I don't believe any of our fans are expecting miracles from him but if he has improved as a player whilst on loan, it would be foolish not to recall him for the remainder of the season. If he struggles so be it but I don't think we should squander this opportunity of bolstering the squad for the run-in.Originally posted by Eric the Half a Bee View PostFair enough, but I still think we're pinning too much hope on someone who was rightly sent out on loan to a lower division club and coming back to us would be something of a risk. I think some are thinking we'd be recalling Franco Baresi.

Re: Mark Mcguinness
I've always thought he had great potential but like a lot of younger players struggled with consistency. It doesn't help that mistakes made by a centre back are magnified and often more costly than a lot of other positions . He's a no brainer to bring back and adds some much needed aerial threat at set pieces too.

"Whatever people are thinking about my reign and me, that is a damn good signing," a defiant McCarthy said of McGuinness ahead of what would be his final game in charge of City, a defeat by Middlesbrough. "He will be a really good player for the club and I hope he is one to drive the club forward.

What Mick didn't know about centre backs wasn't worth knowing - in a back 2, a back 3 or a back 5!

Re: Mark Mcguinness
He was out of contract but under the age of 24 so they could have taken it to a tribunal and demanded a fee. They chose not to. You'd presume that they negotiated a favourable sell on clause.Originally posted by Eric the Half a Bee View PostIf he left on a free, presumably his contract was terminated to allow him to leave?
