Yes it been awful era under Tan no sucess, or enjoyment,just endlesss misery, no wonder so many CCMB contributors are suffering from anexiey issues , what with Tan , Trump and Boris its been a Dies irae ...............

On a brighter note I think he wants to sell and the buyers have told him they dont want certain laibailities ie wages persona as they feel it infaltes the purcahse price , or he is simply down sizing it for it become a better purchase for a prospective buyer ..

Like it not he is a sucessful busienss man , and we are not ,we may like to look at him as some silly shirt wearing malaysian loop ,he looks at us and probaly thinks why do they dislike me so ?? I have given a lot of my time and money to this project and the club , where no other WelsH or UK person has not shown any intrest .

lets be fair is anyone ever happy on this board,isnt its primary purpose to moan , rant and insult ?

It’s as if we expect a god given right to be good in picking players and managers.

Want to invest on the field, off the field and still reduce debt. Can’t win with football fans

I've been happy with him right up until the Morison sacking. He put his money where his mouth is. I wasn't bothered by any of his "strange" shenanigans but when you sign a whole new team and finally get a striker, only to sack the manager right afterwards with no plan in place...it's just mind boggling. I didn't get it at all and I still don't. Feels more and more like a gambler who's down big but can't leave the casino so he just blows up the casino.

Well we've got a loan that has a decent interest being charged to the club that isn't owed to Tan.

Does that firm care what state City are in as long as they can repay the loan? I wouldn't in their position as long as it was getting paid.

There's quite a few on here that thought that Morison was out of his depth and stats supported that. Problem is Hudson didn't fair much better, worse if anything.

Can some take a stab at a guess as to why Tan is still interested in the club? It baffles me completely.

In my opinion it’s cultural. The classic “saving face”. It’s a status symbol, emblem, part of his portfolio. It’s not so much of a business as a status symbol. I think only City & QPR are Malaysian owned. He has the money and can absorb the cost, financially he doesn’t need to sell. The ownership of, is more important than the business.

The bit I don't understand with all this is that anybody who cares to take a look at Cardiff City, even in passing, can see that it is run badly.

How is showing you can't run a football club saving face?
Surely in conversation among the people he is trying to impress with this 'status symbol' one of the next questions might touch on the fact we used to be a Premier League club but are now awful on and off the pitch.

The Sala stuff along with how they run the club generally can't be all that great for anybody.

He moans about putting money in, transfer flops, losing money etc…but then continues to run the club so badly…..maybe he just has too much cash to really care?:hehe:

Yeah, it’s as if some fans want the club they support to be successful and the people who own and run their club to be competent. Crazy stuff.

I have dealt with the Far East a lot myself, both personally and professionally, and have been on cultural training courses.

All the things you mention, apart from the 'saving face' aspect would have applied in the early days but now that he no longer seems to exploit the engagement once the gloss of success has passed. He is now associated with his own non-attendance, poor judgement, a failed promotion of City in Malaysia, a classic error in re-branding and more - and failure has its own stigma even in the Far East.

I would have thought that owning a business with a £50 million turnover would need at least 1 permanent Director in place overseeing the day-to-day running of the club, communicating with your 20,000 regular customers, the media, talking regularly with all managers, taking readings of the mood prevailing, current topics re. on and off the pitch activities, addressing questions from key personnel, and being on the ball ready to act in the matter of transfers in and out, potential players, scouting, new coaches/managers when relevant, and so on..

Sarajevo ate 5th in their league (poor by their standards) and don’t have a Director of Football.

I can’t say I’m as up to speed with all the goings on with the club as I used to be, but for me the problem seems to be Dalman and Choo and how the club is ran, rather then Tans ownership? Hasn’t he put a lot of money in?

I do realise that Tan should be doing more to move those two on and bring in some people who know what they’re doing but seeing TAN OUT banners makes me feel very uneasy.

I hated when we changed to red but he listened eventually and changed it back.
He’s developed part of the ground.
We’ve spent god knows how much on transfers and wages and managers over the years. Got promoted twice..

I actually quite like having Tan as an owner compared to what some fans of other clubs have been through.

Am I being a total melon here and missing something obvious?

Dalman and Choo are the problem! Tan needs to sack them both and sue for wasting his millions.
Tans been our best owner in my time, Rick Wight had the ball rolling, but pulled the plug once we got promoted? Maybe he’d run out of money to carry on, but what a great year 93 was.
On the protest who’s everyone expecting to come in and do better? Tan could get Huw Jenkins in as chairman? He knows how to run a club doesn’t he.
