  • The Bagan conundrum

I honestly have no idea why we're not playing Bagan at the moment.
I know some are not a fan, and we know he's not the best defensively, but he's pinched a few goals playing at left-back in the past.
Playing him obviously allows us to push O'Dowda forward, which is only a good thing. Bagan supports attacks, and if we go with Philogene on the right instead of the rather useless Ojo, then surely we'd have a bit more about us in an attacking sense at least.

Yes, yes, and yes. I fully expected Bagan to start today. We're struggling to score goals, yet one of our more attacking players (O'Dowda) is at left back? Where is the sense in that?

He doesn't look like half the player he did at times last season. I imagine the coaching staff see it that way too. Losing Collins was a massive blow as he started on fire. Ebou Adams seems to be rooming with Isaac Vassell.

O Dowda is also our best left back at the moment.

Totally over looked by Hudson and Whitehead which is surprising. Morison I think would have played him more, he seemed to be the 2nd choice at the start of the season.

Agree but we really need goals so he should be up where he needs to and Bagan is a left back.

If we're going to play 5 at the back we should have kept Nkounkou- couldn't defend but was an attacking threat, much more so than Bagan will ever be.

You made that call on the 6 minutes he played in the league this season, or against premier league opposition?

                  Re: The Bagan conundrum

Our main issue is not scoring, not really the defensive side. We have to get our best attacking players in the best positions.

That means O’Dowda HAS to play further forward.

If that means Bagan has to play LB then so be it, he’s good enough

Yes, on the Leeds performances. How else?

                      Bagan, 48 matches, 3 goals, 2 assists.
                      Nkounkou, 98 matches, 4 goals, 7 assists.

Much more of an attacking threat than Bagan, clearly.

Bagan needs a good performance. He was not good at Leeds. But then again, who was?

                          I can’t understand this either.

Then again I can’t understand why Colwill and the other youngsters that Morison was forced into playing last year, aren’t getting games….

Maybe because he's not very good. Surely these players should be improving as they are getting older.

Youngsters tend to make mistakes naturally, and a well balanced squad has seasoned professionals to guide and protect the youngsters. Our supposed seasoned professionals look devoid of all confidence and as such the kids look hapless. As I've said, Bagan looked like a rabbit caught in headlights against Leeds and physically weak.
