I've seen a few posts welcoming it to get rid of Tan or to regroup and start fresh but it didn't always work for bigger clubs than us.
Unless it causes a complete philosophical rethink, a restructuring of the hierarchy, the hiring of a competent manager and recruitment of decent footballers, no. So no.

      Re: If we go down

If you go down from the championship to league one it probably helps if your fanbase sticks by you, like Sunderland (although it still took them a few years to back up). Things are so toxic with us though that season ticket sales and matchday income would plummet, as well as TV income and sponsorship, making it even more difficult to turn things around.

        Re: If we go down

A complete disaster, league one is a tough league and it’s clear we won’t be paying fees for players, we would probably have to cut back further. For some reason some fans think we drop down then we bounce back playing good attacking football.

I’d be more concerned about the possibility of cut backs and fighting the wrong end of the table and looking at league 2, might seem unlikely to some but it’s only another poor transfer window and another poor management appointment and teams easily drop.

Did we get relegated last season and nobody tell us??? 😅

            Re: If we go down

The only thing we, as supporters can do right now, is turn out in big numbers, and get right behind the team for a full 90 minutes, even if they are playing shite, By all means let your feelings be known at the final whistle.
If we do go down, then it is what it is.
I signed up in 63, the yr I was born, to support the City till I shuffle of my mortal coil.
In an ideal world Tan would never have introduced the rebrand, and would have invested wisely in management and football personnel, and kept us in the Premier league. He didn’t.
Will he stay or will he go? Who knows? If he does go, who will take over?
Could be anyone. Doesn’t matter to me, if we are in the premier league, or division 2.
I’m not a happy clapper, just a lifelong City fan. I have much more important matters in my life, such as my families health, the cost of living etc. Going down the City is only a pass time for me, though I will back them to the hilt home and away, but once the game is over, normal life kicks back in.
Reading this board can be so depressing at times. I’ve not contributed for a while, for that reason.
What’s happened to all the crazy, funny threads we used to get. Do we only sing when we’re winning?

All that TV money lost. Just piles more financial woe on.

Pompey , Bolton etc and bigger clubs than that have struggled

                It's a nightmare scenario

Some good away trips but it's at home that you bring in gate money

                Our crowds will collapse

                  Re: If we go down

I think those thinking going down will be a chance to regroup etc have forgotten how hard it was to get to the championship in the first place ( or it was before their time)
It’s not a foregone conclusion we’d go back up and given the state of the club I think it’s unlikely that we would.
I think it would be a complete disaster. The club should have budgeted for and planned for relegation from the PL but I doubt much of a plan is in place for league one.
Unfortunately all the signs seem to suggest that’s where we are going

Campbell's volley was almost 20 years ago. It's given us 20 years of being out of the doldrums.

I don't think younger fans really get that.
I don't think they have any clue what it's like to be down there, or trying to get out of there.

I'm old enough to remember far worse, and I sure as shit don't want to go back to those days.

Pompey had zero money, were fan owned, they struggled to compete without the investment, then when invest came ( in the shape of Eisner, ex CEO of disney ) they welcomed him and sold up for his investment, ironically they are now protesting as it seems they want to know his plans and lack of ambitions
