Our results significantly improved after he arrived and we definitely improved as a team.

And we are in a far worse predicament this season……. :-/

Ask yourself this: why did Rotherham, a team down at the bottom like us, deem him worthy of loaning?

We don't score goals any more either.

Hugill has signed a 3.5 year deal. In fairness, I wouldn’t have signed him. He will do OK for them, though.

Our side this year is miles worse than last year.

Should do well for them I agree, but there's a big risk with that kind of signing too - probably on big wages for them, if he doesn't do well and they go down, or he gets injured or something they then have a guy on their book until he's 34, and they might have trouble shifting him if his level declines rapidly.
If it works then great - if it doesn't it's a potential albatross for the next few seasons if not.
We know what it's like to have a squad full of declining players that we can't shift and who use up a big chunk of the wage budget.

It’s not just Rotherham signing players, out of our rivals Huddersfield have brought in Martin Waghorn and Anthony Knockaert up front, both with plenty of experience at this level. Blackpool have signed 3 players on loan and made a £500k offer for a defender from Hearts . Wigan bought in Caulker and a few others on loan. These players may not work out but at least they’re giving it a go.

Rotherham had been my top pick to join Wigan for the drop. Will have to replace them with Birmingham who are imploding with their Dad's Army forward line. Am hoping Mad Mick will extend his spectacular losing streak to ensure Blackpool join them.

Rotherham have signed another player today - 22 year-old midfielder Conor Coventry from West Ham. So that's Morrison, Hjelde, Fosu, Hugill and Coventry in January. They're going for it.
