We were told the signing of a striker was imminent after the game on Saturday - nearly four days later, we're still waiting. I wonder if it was Jordan Hugill and he saw Rotherham as a better bet than us?

Being naive, I could say that it was because we've got our new manager lined up and he didn't fancy whoever it was we were supposed to be signing, but City don't operate that way do they and the truth is more likely to be that they are being complacent, inept of a mixture of the two.

My assumption is our first choice is waiting for something better, or hasn't been sacked yet.

But the lack of action is probably worse than making the wrong decision unless they get a good centre forward in anyway.

Just sums up the incredible ineptitude of the board/Tan. We’ve had no plan from when we sacked Mick. It’s been “he can’t be worse”, and then it turns out they are.

Can't see any players considering joining us unless they know who they'll be working with and what their plans are for the team for the rest of the season.

Yep, any potential loaning club also would have massive reservations sending to us if there's another decent enough option.

It's a mess, it's going to be a long process to sort out fully but in the short term we need a manager yesterday.

We got away with it last season because Derby and Reading had points deductions, so we were never in any real danger. Amazing that the board seems to think it'll work again this season.

In fairness, last season the board got Doyle, Drameh, Doughty, Hugill and Uche. This Jan we’ve spent 7m to sign nobody and don’t have a manager.

Dalman's saying that Tan wanted to give Whitehead a chance and the temp manager's comments that they were close to bringing in players, leads me to think we will not be having a manager brought in from outside, anytime soon.
Hope I'm wrong.

We will have Whitehead until the end of the season.

I've got absolutely nothing against Whitehead but we need a manager with experience right now. We will go down without this + at least one new signing.

Surely someone must be screaming at Tan to let him know this is suicidal decision making.

I googled Vincent Tan's email address and found a possible email. I'll drop him a message now..
