  • Why?

    OverviewLyricsListenOther recordingsVideosArtists
I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
    She was my woman
As she deceived me, I watched and went out of my mind
    My, my, my, Delilah
    Why, why, why, Delilah
I could see, that girl was no good for me
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free
At break of day when that man drove away, I was waiting
I crossed the street to her house and she opened the door
    She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
    My, my, my, Delilah
    Why, why, why, Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore
    She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
    My, my, my, Delilah
    Why, why, why, Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me, Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore
Forgive me, Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore

      Re: Why?

It’s been banned from being sung at the Millenium Stadium. I’m assuming because he kills his missus with a knife.

I continue to be surprised by the woke.

I didn't even realise those were the lyrics. Good job it didn't subliminally turn me into a psycho killer I suppose.

Yes - They've now decided to stop reading slasher fiction over the tannoy at half time in the rugby at the Millenium.

Wonder if Beyonce will be allowed to sing it at her gig there in the summer?

                  Re: Why?

A very transparent attempt to deflect attention away from the issues in rugby by having people be angry at the "wokes" banning Delilah rather than the real problems in the game

The “woke” uncovered the WRU is institutionally sexist. They didn’t ask for this, nobody did. In 10 years time, people will look back on stuff that was banned by “the woke left” and think, well obviously that wasn’t acceptable.

There's a world of difference between any serious allegations of sexism and people banning a piece of music or trying to at least.

The latter is the sort of nonsense that will at best be laughed at. The worst of which (out of control PC, wokeness whatever) is quite dangerous and an absolute mess of jumbled up thinking.

I heard one team banned reading passages from American Psycho over the tannoy at half-time. Whatever next?
