His wife must take him shopping in the kiddy trolley
I guessed you created this thread to have a laugh at my expense while not being obvious about it. I know now you did so by that shopping trolley remark as before 'Er Indoors scarpered into the arms of a lanky string of you know what you'd make the same crack about her wheeling me around Tesco in that fashion.
Go ahead and claim she used to hold my hand when escorting me around Hamleys and Smyths Toys stores. Tell everyone she used to give me a clip round the ear whenever I got on her thruppenny bits, or she'd sit me on her knee to watch the Cartoon Network. I've heard it all before!
To spike your guns further, don't bother adding to this thread with dwarf or midget comments. As you're well aware, being 5' 1" is way taller than what they are.
A lot of people, including me, quote their height as what it was last time they measured themselves i.e. as a young adult.
I had a date a few years ago and the female thought I had exaggerated my height in my dating profile. I subsequently went home and measured myself to be half an inch shorter than I used to be. I'm not hunched over with age but, apparently, it's the norm - and women lose even a greater proportion of their height, I discovered.

What you claim is the type of superstitious nonsense which persists in backward rural areas. Be assured, your height remained exactly the same.
All that changed at those checks many years apart were the soles of your wellies were half-inch thicker the first time than the pair you wore at the second check.

Just remember you shrink as you grow older. I've shrunk 2" but luckily I'm still 6ft.

Certainly true of Spanish, Greek women etc. You see the youngsters swanning about, tall, lithe and toned, turn the clock on 30/40 years and they’re hunched, chubby, knotted hanky on their head, dark cardigan and huge floral skirts. Mediterranean diet, my arse or in their cases, fat arse.
