he is a professional, I wouldn't think he would loss match fitness while doing football training
WalesOnline said he hasn’t been training with the side. Perhaps that has changed recently. Kaba has at least been training. If he doesn’t sign in time for Reading, I struggle to see what the point is.

Ask any footballer what it’s like in your first real game after 2 months out, and they’ll tell you they’ll feel miles off it.

What’s the excuse for our regular starters then?

        :hehe: they’re not very good

Wickham played his last game for FGR on Dec 10th, so he’s not played a game in over 2 months.

Is this the most drawn out signing of a free agent of all time?

Imagine if we were actually paying a fee?! :-/

It doesn’t imply that he is in very high demand though does it, but we ARE desperate I suppose…..

Yes, but he kept fit eating Christmas lunch.

Maybe it’s the opposite. Perhaps Wickham’s had other offers and is weighing up his options.

It is odd that this hasn’t been sorted out yet though. Maybe Ken Choo’s been too busy selling cars to sign players.

Maybe with the train strikes it's taken him a while to get up to Huddersfield?

I said that.Warnock could nip in our McCarthy. Then on the other hand he could still have fitness problems.
Someone on the other board said there was another striker training with us as well as a couple of other players including a left back.
                  Let's hope its true.

Arthur Scargill is playing up front tonight.

Speaking from experience you are always vulnerable to injury when playing for the first time after a long layoff. Given Wickham's injury record it would be advisable to break him in gently.
