For anyone interested in stats, he becomes the 5th City manager to lose all of his opening 3 games. The others are Ben Watts-Jones, Billy Jennings, Bill Jones and Alan Durban.

No Cardiff manager has ever lost their first 4 games in charge. Even the hapless Solskjaer lost his opening 3 league games (in between FA cup wins) and won his 4th league game. Jimmy Andrews lost 3 of his first 4, Richie Morgan lost 4 of his first 6.

Bonus point for anyone who can tell me which City manager endured the longest winless run at the start of their career.

Should Lamouchi succeed in securing three points against Reading next Friday I would expect spontaneous street parties to begin in areas of Grangetown, Canton and Riverside. Vinnie, watching on the box somewhere in Malaysia, providing he doesn't faint with shock, will boogie around his living room.

And fans heading for Cardiff General station post-game shall Conga dance their way down the entire length of Ninian Park Road.

I know it's early days and maybe I should be fairer to him but I'm getting misgivings about Lamouchi already. His team selection certainly doesn't inspire me and then my mind keeps drifting back to his last days at Forest. I do hope I'm wrong about this.
