Doh, it was Jimmy Scoular wasn’t it? I wrote about that in my book on the 70/71 season- he went something like twelve games without winning.

Ill guess Ashurst. Only started going the year we went up but obviously know wed been relegated under him the previous season.

I know it's early days and maybe I should be fairer to him but I'm getting misgivings about Lamouchi already. His team selection certainly doesn't inspire me and then my mind keeps drifting back to his last days at Forest. I do hope I'm wrong about this.

He needs to stop the rot pretty soon or at least show some sign that he can. So far I haven’t seen anything to that effect and so inevitably people will think the same as you.

Lamouchi has lost his last 10 Championship games. Seven at Forest, three here, and his winless Championship streak stands at 14 games.

Perhaps it's why he spent 17 months in the football wilderness before Vinnie gave him a bell.

Indeed. I was quite surprised to see that when I was scrolling down through my spreadsheet. In fact, despite Scoular being revered by most older City fans, his record wasn't as great as I'd have expected.

Scoular had three very good seasons in the middle of his time with us, but either side of that, it was not great apart from an occasional cup run - he wouldn’t have lasted beyond October under Tan and would have needed an unusually patient modern day club to have survived his first two seasons.
