I'm looking to change my alarm. Yale seem to be amongst the best. Something like this is probably what you are describing, they also have a "smart" home alarm alternative.

I'll probably go for a Ring Alarm as I've already got the doorbell mentioned above so it makes sense to have everything on the same system.

Get a ring doorbell it'll record everything outside your property

I don't want them on crimewatch , I want to batter them if they get in

I suppose they have to be activated so infrequently that they last an age whereas the house ones need stronger batteries ?

Having one of them in the hallway would mean you'd have less than 10 seconds to enter its PIN every time you'd return home else wake the whole street with the racket it would make.

Hugh and Sue Pugh next door soon enough would be just the types to put the windscreen of your Astra in with house bricks, and Mrs Petherick farther down only needs the flimsiest excuse to bang lumps out of your front door again following that incident with you tampering with her washing line.

Judging by your wardrobe sense, and the fact you've got no technology there (you tell us until our ears bleed you can't use it so I doubt you've got anything worthwhile)

I fitted it on Saturday evening. No one else has come to the door since and I popped out today for some drinks.
