Maybe the McGuinness card colour, but we were all over Reading.

The fortune we’ve had this season has mainly been misfortune.
We scored two late goals against a poor Birmingham side

Reading were also poor but we didn't score till the 91st minute

Only in these two games has sabri really made a difference and I hope it continues !

Or when we went 1-0 up in the 2nd game away to Reading after that early O’Dowda goal and were chanting we are top of the league :hehe:

Why so? I bought my season ticket back in April. At that stage I expected a more entertaining brand of football in 22/23, plenty of goals at either end, a few public hissy fits from Morison when things went against him, etc.

Considering the squad was going to be completely revamped, I thought the season would be a lot more entertaining than it has proved thus far. And I was also expecting the standard of football throughout the division to be a good bit better.

Hopefully, things will liven up a bit during the last 13 games. The signs were promising enough on Friday night.

I see where TLG is coming from. Relegation still a possibility but we haven’t really been battered. Our defence, given league position, isn’t half bad. It’s just our goal scoring record is truly woeful. Attritional isn’t quite the word but it’s the closest I can think of at the moment. It’s been grim but not dramatic on the pitch.

It’s not as if the side has been getting battered every week, while the amount of goals scored has been laughably bad.

If, as I expect, City manage to stay up with a little bit to spare, I don’t think we’ll look back at this season as being dramatic. On the contrary.
I would agree, but I am optimistic as based on the last two games the defence has dramatically improved virtually no saves for the keeper to make, while at the other end, we offer much more of a threat and have four strikers in two pairings who offer a goal threat and we are starting to have much more attempts at goal.

I think we will be comfortably safe now based on those improvements and the amount of lowe level teams we still have to play in this final third of the season.

Norwich will be a good test, we will no a bit more after that game.

We’ve conceded less than 3rd placed ‘Boro.

But more than 11th placed Coventry.

In terms of goals conceded, City are in the top ten. In terms of goals scored, City are rock bottom.

Glad to see some optimism return to the board in recent days. Until the two wins it's been the first time I've expected relegation rather than feared it, we were even having a look at what grounds we could "look forward" to visiting in league one.

That being said, we are nowhere near out of the woods yet.

Yep…..even Wigan have scored 4 more goals than us.

Always was and always will be about sticking the little round thing in the opposition's onion bag.
If you can keep it out of your own then you win games.

Feck all this so called tiki taka possession football. Unless you are a world class side with world class players, you will fail.

Yes, knock it about but with a view to creating space for your attacking players to do their thing.

From what i have seen recently, without being completely "hoofball" this seems to be what we are now trying to do.

More of the same will shirley see us rise in the table.

Our opposition loved our tippy tappy shit, walk back slowly 11 behind the ball, and they'll give it straight back to us so we can attack again and repeat, our strikers had bad necks looking back praying we would get one ball per half to them.

The Bluebirds started the season playing one brand of football and look likely to finish the campaign in completely different fashion

Romaine Sawyers' words about the style of player after his winner against Reading on Friday night were pretty telling. "Earlier on in my career I would have struggled (with the style), but now I know what the gaffer is expecting from us," the player said. "It's about minimising risks, getting up the pitch, picking up on second balls and playing from there.
