This could hardly be described as an impressive signing, but it is an interesting one. Kanga has shown in Switzerland and Belgium that he can score goals, but his career thus far has been erratic. Hopefully, Championship football will suit him better than French, Turkish or German football did.
I would imagine Bulut and his team will know a lot more than a few football fans with a wifi connection to minimal information from Google, on whether the player will fit in with how he wants to play in the coming season.
Fingers crossed he's right, but as with most transfers from overseas that none of us know, we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Just to say that a Hertha fan has replied to a Tweet of mine to say that Kanga does not want to play for Hertha (some sort of dispute with them I presume). He says he’s definitely good enough for them;-
“Yes, as his contract is valid until June 2026.
In total, this player should be fun. Can shield balls, score and his speed is decent. He had a bad first year, as the Club was a total mess, and just does not want to return to Hertha. We have to accept that and need some money.”

You'd hope so, but then you'd have imagined the same would have been true with regard to the loan signings of Famara Diedhou, Jonathan Panzo and Runar Runarrson.

I think most clubs have signed a few players that failed to live up to expectations since at least the 1900’s.

True mistakes get made, know he is here and more established and knows the league and what we need there will be fewer of them, he has made some very good signings.
Diedhou was probably way down the pecking order but we couldn't get much in January and Moore was out of our League.

Every transfer is a bit of a gamble really.

Indeed. And City have made loads of those in recent years.
Thanks for your input. Valuable as always.

We signed 15ish players under Bulut last season and not one of them would get into our 17/18 team.

Anytime captain obvious.

Stansfield seems like a good player, but was in a hot streak of finishing last season ( i.e. he scored significantly over his xG , and it's usually expected that can't be sustained over a longer period)
also looking at his stats he does very well with things like pressing from the front and carrying the ball forward, but there isn't much evidence that he can be an effective aerial presence.
of course you'd have to look into that deeper to see if it's just something that isn't in his game, or more a reflection of how the team were looking to use him.

I know you’re wired differently and despise the current board over an association football top, but perhaps be a Incy wincy a bit more positive

Think the journalist concerned is something of a Dalman mouthpiece.

But 'think' is the operative word there. Ask ourself why would Dalman deliberately brief to potentially sabotage a signing? It's surreal.

Because a player who was being touted as a dead cert to be coming here a week or so ago is edging towards choosing Portsmouth over us?
-
Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Rob Phillips is saying Hull could be in for Robertson as well.

he will chip in with a few goals , so that's not a bad price.
unlikely to be any resale value at his age hence it isn't higher.

No. Because the journo made the statement and a club we are in contention with are now using it as a lever to make him think he will be better off going to them. In my view that can only be a bad thing.
Do you know for a fact that the player is 'edging towards choosing Portsmouth over us?' and is he doing it because of the comment or was he 'edging' before?
There would be no need for Dalman brief him to say what he said, if the club are not that interested all they need to do is stop talking to his agent.

Haha! You can jump on the back of my mobility scooter! They need a striker duo up front. It’s hacked too so it’s pretty fast in a straight line. Cardiff was a no go for me because the reverse switch is a bit dodgy and didn’t pass the club MOT.

As long as you don’t get tackled by a cone in training like Ojo did, you should be fine 🤞

Such is their appeal of having no letters in the club name that can be coloured in.

Bulut’s just signed the cone.

Then fined it a week's wages for getting forward too often.
