Witnessing this Labour government is like walking into your parents having sex, but one of them is dead.

Re: What a hopeless bunch this lot are
Starmer's Labour Party was elected by default after we had all suffered the most corrupt and shambolic government in living memory and not because of it enjoying the full-throated support of the electorate.
One thing's for sure! Starmer has demonstrated his unsuitability to lead any political party and all he has managed to do is alienate support from all colours of the spectrum. He had a golden opportunity and spectacularly flunked it.

You are out of the box
You didn't bother voting so your opinion is worthless or you most likely voted tory or reform .....
So get back in the box
Best you stick to conspiracy nonsense with your odd mates online

BREAKING:
Secret WhatsApp messages released today from Isabel Oakeshott reveal that Downing Street ordered the U.K. regulator, the MHRA to ‘knock down’ vax concerns because of extremely poor efficacy.

Re: What a hopeless bunch this lot are
Firstly if i was picking a homelessness minister, i am making sure they arent a landlord.
Secondly id like to see the timeline on all of this clearly as the headlines all appear to be missing key details deliberately.
Thirdly, i was evicted in similiar circumstances last year, was given less notice and not given the opportunity to stay whilst the property was listed for sale. So on the face of it, she appears to be better than the average landlord.
The position of the right wing press is completely illogical on this story. They are rabidly in favour of landlords and the private rental system and against the renters rights bill and at the same time also massively critical of this particular instance in which an MP who happens to be a landlord has acted in a way that is probably better than average towards their tennants. If starmer specifically didnt pick her as minister because she was a landlord (as i would say he should have), the right wing press would have labelled him as hating all landlords, cant really win.

Not only voted for it, but along with Rjk he was part of a successful online campaign that persuaded millions of people to vote for Starmer! :hehe:

But how do you know that many other landlords don't give the same opportunity to stay while the sale is going through?
You can',t really take just two cases and then call the one the average landlord!
I have no sympathy for her, she knew full well that the government are about to change the law on this issue. Had this been a Tory mp Labour would have been o pin them like a ton of bricks.
I won't disagree about the attitude of the press incidentally

If RJK is that influential, then i nominate him to go down to the cardiff city stadium and have a quiet work with Mehmet and the other two over player recruitment. Talk about stretching a point.

I don't think that can realistically be said now can it? Economy is doing worse and the sleaze and scandal levels are on a par.

You may say that, I wouldn’t, but it’s like fans of Derby in 2011 was it and Southampton supporters from last season arguing about who’d win if those teams could have played each other.

Don't disagree there, although I don't think we are talking that level of incompetence. It's basically the European norm in the last 10-15 years unfortunately.
But I would argue - and always did - that major political parties are all equally prone to incompetence and sleaze etc.
This latest story does amaze me though. Just so obviously wrong, and so unnecessary. Greed is the downfall of so many. I have my weaknesses but I must say greed isn't one of them, so it's not something I've ever understood really.

It's not incompetence, he's following a plan.

What's the plan? I do think they are incapable of seeing the wood for trees and I think they aren't capable of making the big decisions needed but I think they think they mean well and believe they are doing the right thing.

The UK overall has alwayd tended to be a centrist country, yet we now have two new parties which are catering, to an extent for the extremes of left and right (though there are extremes on both sides who are beyond the pale for Reform or the You party.
People who like me in the centre are left with the two dinosaur parties who have let us down for years. Or the Liberal Democrats who can't ever decide on which part of the centre left they truly belong.
And you are right about Sludge who labels people like you me or James when he really knows bugger all about us!
