back in the old days of the Cold War, Russia V's the rest of the world was always going to be a non-event on a battlefield, now its even more apparent, its only that Ukraine has no air support that that massive convoy hasn't been blown to bits, imagine a airforce taking run after run at it, Drones would take it apart ( as we used in Afghanistan and Syria )
It must be so frustrating for NATO generals looking at that slow moving convoy for the reason you say - it would be like the proverbial "shooting ducks in a barrel". Yet they are powerless to intervene.
