I think most of us would've been surprised to find ourselves going past the second and third round. There was also the sense of just enjoying the ride. Not sure many England fans are of the same mentality.
If they win, what can you do? It's probably about time. Plenty of football fans are swaggering gobshites anyway so that won't make much difference. And some of our dopey fans will have to think of something else to sing at the English next season.
And if they don't win, they'll have an even bigger chance at the next one: home advantage, their best young players hitting their prime, probably an upgrade on Southgate. See, I'm preparing myself already. Jeez, what if they do two in a row?
