On a serious note, love him or despise him, most Americans should be grateful Trump survived the attack. Had he been killed it could easily have become the catalyst for a civil war. At the very least it would have sparked pandemonium. Of course it's still possible unpleasant retaliation will now follow.

People died at Capitol Hill, including law enforcement.
    What about?!..what about?!

Again, you can't see that you are just as bad as the man you hate if you cannot condemn an attempted assassination on a political candidate in which an innocent person died.

There are lines in politics and this clearly crosses it. Whether it's Trump or Jo Cox or David Amiss or whomever else, political violence and attempted murder is quite obviously only something to condemn.

So the deaths of those at the hands of trumps mob in Washington?

Are they below the line ?

To borrow a word Jon used, for someone who loves to think he knows so much more than most of us on here, you really are very, very naive.

I see Mr Wales is putting himself forward as the voice of common sense on here once again, despite his language being more hyperbolic than those he’s “putting right” in many cases this time.

I know you're a critical thinker (possibly even a reader of source documents), so do you know if they mentioned in court if David DePape (a Canadian half of Paul Pelosi's age) was a 'friend'?

I completely condemn political violence Bob and criticise those who don't or who make light of it. I consistently call out hateful political language on here as you well know.

    Do you?

There. How is that remotely hyperbolic?

You're always on good form when you act all hysterical and concerned about other individuals lack of political morals or viewpoints. It's touching that you care.

    Staying on track.

The attempt on Trump as you've pointed out is as serious as Jo Cox, David Amiss, Pelosi husband (who was obviously he was shagging a bloke according to some) and Capitol Hill. They're all attacks on political democratic values.

My observation have been concerned with Trumps uncaring attitude when the victim has been a political opponent and the lack of outrage by some on here when comparing other politically motivated attacks to Donny getting his ear pierced. To my untrained eye there's a lack of consistency in calling out wrongdoings. I'll happily be put right on this.

On a personal note, it's not surprising he's been the victim of an attempt on his life really. Do I care? Not really.

So you don't care because the man who was almost killed supposedly didn't care either?

As I said, you are no better if that is what you think.

It's very sad and indeed reprehensible that the violence caused two innocent civilians to be killed and maimed. However the bulk of the right wing movement terms this "collateral damage" when thousand of innocent children are murdered in Gaza! What's in a name, I suppose!

I didn’t listen to the court case ,I’m a busy family man , but I sincerely doubt his “friend” would have been mentioned

Have you seen the police video of the incident, that’s also doing the rounds very strange that was.

That said shall we stick to the actual debate rather than bringing in matters that clearly have been discussed in detail before as per our resident Narc who has a habit of pulling up very old threads to massage his perceived superiority.

So you think it was a "male friend" who attacked Pelosi, but in the court case they wouldn't mention the "friend"?

You sincerely doubt that the man who was on trial and defending himself would have been mentioned?

Because Jon made light of the situation and then instantly referred to the Israel / Gaza war which has absolutely nothing to do with it.

You didn't pick that up as hyperbolic then? But you refer to me referencing what he said as such. Interesting.
