Yeah so there is a few things unravelling on all this.

I have to say this doesn't excuse the crass timing of Trump's comments but I think it does explain what seemed like a random intervention.

It seems that;

A/ the air traffic control tower was understaffed

B / the FAA is being sued for racial discrimination based on their DEI policies.

C / they turned down 1000 valid applicants based on their race.

I gather there are numerous class actions against companies at the moment which is why many are abandoning such policies which I think nearly everyone would agree go too far and go way beyond legitimately opening up opportunities for people.

Correlation doesn't mean causation of course and Trump is taking one and one and coming up with three, and his timing was still bad but it's not random as first suggested.

Feels like a real culture shift coming on all of this stuff, which is good in my opinion.
