This is just daft. Who decides this shortlist and why? Goutas!! Chambers!! What criteria does whoever puts this short list together use? Why not just simply shortlist every player who has played more than, say, 30 games?

If I am forced to pick one off that list - and I don’t really want to - then it can only be Robinson as he has scored goals > 10. But he hardly deserves it. Last couple of games he has started for example think he’s been shite!!

You'd think a mix of the club having some common sense along with some self awareness and the professional pride of the coaching and playing staff would mean the Player of Year award gets binned off?

I doubt the players want to attend this sort of thing at the best of times to be fair.

Club should probably bin this off, or donate the award to some lowly/moderately paid hard workers behind the scenes, some of which will probably be laid off with relegation.
