plenty of grit left in them teeth, little bit of passion required, better than the loast 2 stale sandwiches we just had

mark Hughes is a proven manager, unfortunately he's proven to be a bad manager - no thanks for me

Daniel Farke may be available. If anybody can get us a double promotion to the Premier League it's him.

Didn't want to start a new thread but someone mentioned Eric ramsey. He's had an interview for Southampton.

I'd like ramsey and ramsey for us.

    Ramsey street. Neighbours.

Riza was 100% right about this fanbase

He's in America isn't he? He's a good coach but that doesn't always translate to man management. He also moves around quite a bit, so I'm not sure if he is the roll up your sleeves and get stuck in type of person. He didn't last very long with Wales either.

I'd be amazed if cooper didn't end up at Southampton

Ampadu's Dad is doing better over there, but he's only the assistant manager.

The guy who just relegated Carlisle to non-league. Are you for real?

    Re: Next Manager thread

I suspect this thread will still be active pushing into late July as the club meticulously go over every candidate before deciding the next manager was hiding in plain sight at the club the whole time.

In fairness they improved loads under him but they appointed him too late to prevent relegation. Not that I'm saying I'd want him here

Assume you aren't aware of the position they were in when he went there and the position now?

Des Buckingham is probably the best of the genuinely realistic options available.

    Re: Next Manager thread

Ramsey has said he probably wouldn't want to be player-manager. "I don't think you can do both, it would be one or the other. So, we will see."

Im not the best with logic but as hes also said he wants to play until the World Cup that means hes not interested in being a manager next season?

It was difficult to tell from his press conference whether he was interested or not. He did say the most important thing was to make a relatively quick appointment. He also mentioned several times about the importance of having the right coaching structure in place.

I know there was a thread stating Ramsey was happy enough to be involved in those conversations but I never felt he meant him becoming manager next season. I always felt he meant offering advice to the decision makers on how to improve the footballing side of the club and input into who would be a good next manager.

He's previously stated his aim is to play at the 2026 World Cup and it would be a struggle to achieve that if he was to retire or even become player manager.

    Re: Next Manager thread

I know Ramsey only had one week and two games with the squad, but to be honest, I was genuinely disappointed at Saturday's team and tactics. I was expecting a different line-up, new tactics, and some real drive and passion going forward. And what did we get? More of the same old sh*t. Sure, we had a bit of a purple patch in the second half, but that happens in most games, and no matter how purple it was, we didn't score.
I know he's been handed a poisoned chalice, but I did expect more. Anything, in fact, other than the same old dross. So no, not Ramsey, please.

We'll see what he does with a free hit against Norwich but I do tend to agree... it was a very minimally changed side from the team that was obviously heading straight down under Riza, I had expected him to try something a bit different even with the limited time he had.
