Do I think Smith, Marriott, Rodriguez, Fletcher, Mullen and Palmer has more depth to it at L1 level than Salech, Robinson, a talented but unfortunately injury prone Isaak Davies, Kion Etete and Michael Reindorff. Yes, I absolutely do.

The striker you have placed 2nd on that list has played for 13 clubs in his career, is 30 years old and scored 6 goals in 30 games last year in league 1

But apparently better than what we have here?

Who cares about resale value. We are football fans not accountants.

Would I take those 6 over our 5/6 if trying to get promotion from. YES. I absolutely would. How many more times do I need to answer the question?

Firstly it was 6 in 26 in the league? Why lie?

Marriott has scored goals wherever he’s been and scored plenty in League 1. 6 league goals in 9 starts, I know RJK likes to work out his goals per minutes. He scored 6 in 796 minutes last season, Average of 1 on less than a 1.5 games. Not bad eh:

Etete has played for 6 different clubs at 23.
Who cares how many clubs someone has had. What’s your point ?

Only one got to double figures maybe but they shared the game time and the goals, hence they have more depth in my opinion.

I’m with you, their 6 is far stronger & experienced than our 6. I also think we need to do everything possible to keep Salech and Robinson plus add at least 2 proven strikers.

I’m not saying we sign him for one second but even though he’s 38 Steven Fletcher scored 8 goals and 1 assist in a little over a 1000 minutes. 2 starts and 38 as sub. Hes probably 4th choice at Wrexham but contributed to their promotion, there’s nqat.

Not lying FFS (I don’t care that much) just the stats I saw on a very quick search

Talk about massages stats to prove a weak point. You are basically describing a journeyman striker who comes as a sub and sometimes bags. Not massively impressive at all in league 1

Why is it a weak point? We are talking strength in depth and someone they bring on as sub for the last 20 minutes scored 8 goals in a promotion winning season.

Who’s our 4th/5th choice? Etete or Reindorff? LOL. According to you even if we sell Salech we will still have the firepower to fire us to promotion haha. Put the turps down.

And according to you we’ll get relegated again if we don’t sign more strikers

I appear to be well in the minority here but I think our squad was more than capable of staying in the division we were just booted out from and should easily be able to mount a challenge next year. We were just beset with poor managers, naiive tactics and then a stench of malaise and panic which maybe could point to the team being mentally not up to the challenge.

If we sort the management and coaching out who can get the most out of the team, maybe bring in some natural leaders to toughen up mentally and I think we'll be ok.
We've conceded 143 goals in 2 seasons. Something is very badly wrong.

According to my season ticket holding Roverzzz mate, this had everything to do with Reindorf falling out with the clubs owners son (who picked the team week in, week out allegedly) rather than Reindorf's playing ability.

I don't massively rate Etete, but if Mark Harris can score 20 goals in League 1, I'm more than confident a fit Etete can.

    You must be Jordan's agent

Etete did not do at all well on loan in league one last season - Bolton fans were saying he's their worst ever signing.

I get what you're saying though - Gavin Whyte was also a top player at league one level and didn't do much in the championship, so any of our players could conceivably be a lot better at this level.

He was constantly injured for them - which in itself is a big concern. I wouldn’t bear too much weight into how other teams fans judge our loan players, there’s loads of unknown external factors at play.

JR did made a valid point that Isaac and Etete do seem to be injured a lot so the next rung down is Reindorf and Simic which you may as well be rolling the dice as to how they’ll adapt. You’d certainly not want them starting for an extended period of time.

    Apology accepted.
