And I am aware some of the Irish players were involved in big games the week before but the point still stands for the Argentina game. Time will tell on the test sides v the Aussies but I don’t think I’ll be far wrong on my assertion that the test side will be dominated by the English. There will certainly be very little room for any Welsh or Scottish players in the test side.

Delmbeth, I know TLG is on a self imposed sabbatical and Eric has flounced, but this is not your time to be crowned King of the CCMB Pedants. They are on a different pedantry level when it comes to scoring meaningless internet points. Leave it go butty.
Oh I see, if you just meant Argentina then fair enough well at least we all learnt some lions history are on the way. Also 40% is probably more than a small token gesture, some would describe it as almost half, but yeah let's leave it there because life's too short.

Also I reckon there'll be more Irish than English in the first test team and I'll be straight back bumping the life out of this thread when that occurs

Please do. The absolute truth is I only posted my initial post to get a childish nibble off Willy, as he gets very precious every six nations about football fans slagging off the rugby, and although you took the bait first he didn’t disappoint in the end.

Plus, I’ll be totally honest, it was game over for me on trying to appear serious when you pointed out Andy Farrell has been in charge of Ireland for 6 years. I thought he was the England coach.

Anyway, I’ll stop detailing the thread now and let the posters who do want to talk about Lions get on with it. Plenty of other threads for me and Barry to have a sparring session whilst he thinks of many more terrible Valleys jokes.

    Wales football - yes

England football - actually yes sometimes esp later in tournaments (sorry!)
England rugby - not on your nelly, squire.
    Team GB - yes
England cricket - yes (cos it's the Wales team too)
British Rugby League - yes (when they played)
England Rugby Leaguev- yes (cos Wales are really shit now)
Lions - yes, but not so bothered

If they survive that and get another pint you can move onto the Welsh clubs playing in the English leagues thing, and then the fact an English club always wins the Welsh league.
Why the difference between England rugby and football?

I've seen a few people do that, never really understood it
