Starmer is exactly what this country thought a politician should be a few years back when they were crying out for somebody from a normal background and who has had a proper job. His story is the embodiment of what 'aspiration' should look like, before it was bastardised into 'pocket as much money as you can as everyone elses expense'. Troubled childhood, worked his ass off to reach the height of his profession and then instead of sitting back and pocketing some lovely free private sector money, throws himself into politics and manages to become leader of his party in a handful of years. All the people who say it has nothing to do with him were the same people who thought Boris would have a 3 term premiership and had written labour into history.

Is he too much of a pragmatist and the manifesto lacks ambition, for me yes. Is he pretty poor at thinking on his feet on certain topics, yes. But do I think he's in this for himself? I genuinely don't get that impression. Which makes a change.
He let Jimmy Savile off while he was still alive.

And the 7.5 million UK adults who are not registered to vote. I doubt many of them would have put a cross next to the Tories.

Keir Starmer was Director of Public Prosecutions when it was decided there was insufficient evidence to charge Savile, but he was not the reviewing lawyer on the case.

I'm not saying it's his fault, but he was the head honcho at the time. Epstein got off too. Looking back at the infamous island, it appears that dirtying up influential people came with a high degree of protection.

He could probably glance around the room and get Keyser Soyse to back him up at the very least!

And persuade Andy Burnham to stand. For MP then leader.

I quite like Lisa Nandy, but Burnham would make the better PM.

Even though I don't always agree with him

I’d agree with most of that, but I feel bad about myself, probably, voting for someone who is almost as much of a liar as Boris Johnson.

It's quite incredible really because I thought starmer was awful again in the last debate with Sunak

The sooner he and rayner are out of the way the better , both shocking
When are you going to realise that voting for whatever party is giving you just an illusion of choice these days.

Sunak & Starmer both represent establishment interests and they ain't coming to save nobody.
