I wanted them out but wanting them out and calling for a general election is not the same as saying there MUST be or we DEMAND a general election

It was entirely up to the Tories to call tge election and thank god they did it when they did
I'm loving reading the sour grape posters. We had 14 f*kn years of Cameron/Clegg, May, Boris, Truss, Sunak and a bunch of swivel-eyed loony ministers, cruel policies and divisive, hate-filled speech. It's only been a few weeks and they're crying like babies.

      Re: Vaughan Gething

I don't live in Wales, but if I did I would be very happy to see a new election for the Senedd so soon after the GE.

Good chance of the Tories going down the toilet again like they did in the GE.

Good chance of PC and LDs picking up seats.

Very good chance of Labour increasing its number of seats despite the recent legacy.

But very good chance too of a very low turn out.

A tory free Wales is great
Well it'd be nice to see Retweet Davies gone but I think Jon1959 has predicted well what would happen, a low turnout, inevitable losses for the tories and gains for Plaid, Labour and Lib Dems.
I think labour are strong enough in Wales as it is

I think if you lived in Wales you might have a different opinion!

Personally I don't think there has to be a new election, although as with so many things we will see in due course, if we don't, then it leaves Labour open to accusations of hypocrisy, as this is exactly what they called for after May, Johnson, Truss left office.

That said, I think it's quite likely one will happen. Labour has no majority and I don't sense Plaid are willing to play mummys and Daddy's anymore

Not least, they know that in any senedd election they may well improve their vote share and be in a position to dictate terms to Labour for a coalition.

I think Labours chances of getting a majority would be very low indeed

I think Labour would lose a lot of seats

And if they did then they really could only blame themselves

I wouldn't mind a increase in the liberal vote if it happened but I want Plaid to be a junior coalition partner, at best

It was Labour who gave them the assembly vote .....which was a worse mandate than brexit ....and they and their friends in the media have been pushing independence ever since

The Welsh language has been boosted by Labour and the assembly but they want the whole pie

Labour are crap at the moment and have clearly got to shape up . If they use the constitution to stay in power till the dust settles to keep the Tories in the box and stabilise then that's what they need to do , in my view

                              👍
