some numbers starting to come through on the impact of the speed reduction from 30-20 mph.
interesting about the costs as well.

6 fewer deaths in the first 3 months of 2024.
that is well ahead of the estimates of around 10 fewer deaths per year.

if that trend continues then surely it's worth it?

20 families every year not having their lives destroyed?

Just imagine what could happen if we got the speed limit down to 10mph, and also banned bicycles and horses, and other things that kill people.

Just ignore him. He's been desperately to find a subject and point he can make in a sensible and coherent way for a long time but failing abysmally. I think it might be something that happens to people that spend too much time on X. Or it could just be the heat.

OK….but how did they come to that figure? Surely that’s an important part of the jigsaw? That figure has to have credibility. Or is it a skewed political point?

Encouraging figures, that have surprised me to be honest. While I still think there are roads that should go back to 30, this would appear to show that many/most remaining at 20 mph would be a good idea.
