My bias? I am merely stating that it seems very likely that serious antisemitic attacks occured. And that seems to be verified.

Yes, your bias. I’ve posted two videos, in the first the person doing the filming specifically says that what is on her film is not what the main stream media and politicians are saying it is. The second video shows Sky News reporting what her video shows in one way and then changing it to something completely different shortly afterwards, why? Not only that, the second video has someone else on camera filming the Tel Aviv fans and, apparently, features him being threatened by them.

I don’t think anyone is denying that there was a degree of violence against the Tel Aviv fans are they, what is arguable is the timing of the events. I’ve posted two videos that suggests that the Tel Aviv fans were the instigators of the problem and so the same defending themselves argument that Netanyahu uses to justify what we’re seeing in Gaza would apply here wouldn’t it - albeit the initial attack was not as devastating as the Hamas one on 7 October was.

1. Absolutely NO ONE in this thread has sought to justify the violence which occurred in Amsterdam

2. Yes, there absolutely is a political conspiracy to support Israel to the hilt. The attempt to conflate anti-Zionist criticism with anti-Semitism is a Western establishment policy.

3. You can't have it both ways: either we just condemn the events as another instance of football violence and disassociate Netanyahu or we enter into a debate as to whether or not religious and ethnic hatred was involved and in which case Netanyahu's murderous campaign must be taken into account as an important backdrop.

Well five were hospitalised, there were 60 arrests, 7 of which were Israeli. Also the authorities in Amsterdam are quoted as saying so and emphasising the antisemitic nature of them.

I think people need to explain why all of that is untrue and why the authorities are lying before accusing others of bias etc. it's flirting with a pretty big and old conspiracy theory!

Reading though this makes quite clear that the authorities are aware of what happened but not of it justifies what followed. That seems a reasonable conclusion to me.

I dont engage much with the Israel/ Palestine debates because I think it's an impossible situation. I think there's extremists on both sides. It definitely shouldn't be used to justify violence thousands of miles away and certainly isn't a reason to start disbelieving the authorities on the ground.

2. Totally disagree. The media isn't shy in reporting what is happening in Gaza (and the wet bank and Lebanon) or giving people on both sides a platform
