No Sludge, you are a liar. You accused me of posting far right and racist things on here. When challenged you couldn't produce anything. You are a liar. I abhor racism, which is why I object to your rhetoric as it only increases it, you are just to far down your rabbit hole to realise it.

In your life, which as you admit is not very diverse in terms of opinions, "far-right" basically means anyone with an opinion you disagree with. In the real world it means something very different which is why you look so offensively dull when you throw it around casually.

As for a "pissed up rant", I said that people seem to get more upset by words than serious actions, given the silence on some serious topics and then the creation of threads on words spoken by an MP (that she rightly apologised for). Case of whataboutery for sure, but hardly a rant and I think the point probably struck a chord because you know there's a little truth in it.

Now stop lying about things, and stop lying about me, and if you can't do that then please stick to your word and STFU, and don't talk to people if they don't have your exact opinions as you clearly can't handle them!

And if you can't handle different opinions without lying about them, then maybe forums aren't the best place to engage and a safe space full of people with the exact same opinions as you is the way forward?

He will respond to this. He can’t help himself.
I’d just let him have his next crazy rant, and leave it that. He’ll sleep a bit easier tonight knowing he got the last word in.

              Re: The New Normal

I believe this latest in a line of long running spats started in a different thread when a Reform MP complained that there were too many non-white faces appearing in TV Commercials.

James first concluded that this was a fair point as DEI had gone too far. Later that evening he chastised a couple of posters for focusing on words and being silent on rape gangs, a 2024 murder in Walsall and the erroneous release of a paedophile. Others suggested that this bit of "whatabouttery" was drink induced.

I guess the crux of the argument subsequently raised was were James's views right wing and racist?

James states that he abhors racism and his posts were a balanced call out to others to develop a sense of perspective around words and the wider evil in the world.

Others, I guess, could point to the examples given, (Pakistani) rape gangs, a Sudanese asylum seeking knife murderer and an asylum seeking paedophile wrongly released as racial bias. Perhaps pondering why someone so keen eyed and balanced never seems to call out the significantly greater examples of rape gangs and stabbings perpetrated by members of the wider populace in the way he demands of others.

In James's defence we do have examples of his anti-racist views. We need look no further than his abhorance of the term "gammon" for instance. I guess what we are missing is any balanced reprimand of people like goslow, LoM and +native hipster as they spread their bile over this board!

It was me he had a go at, in fairness to him, i think he was pissed, so his balance-nuance-ometor wasn't working as it usually does. How it works is to come across reasonable for the first couple of paragraphs of a post then use two lines at the bottom to say what you really think. I've told him before about the dangers of drinking Red Stripe while watching re runs of Fantasy Island, He gets proper lairy.

Ha, fair play, i think you enjoyed writing that. If you are going to miss the point, why not do it whilst being pleased with yourself and offering some humour ;).

Of course, it didn't start in that thread. Sludge has a long history of abusive posts, to many posters. Often dripping in misogyny, on occasion racism (towards Priti Patel once for sure) and always towards anyone with a different political opinion. It's important to stand up to him, IMO. Of course, it can't be done all the time, but I think even you have called him up on it once or twice!

Sludge seems obsessed with the fact that perhaps a couple of years ago I explained I had taken a break (about a month or so) because I had posted on here pissed. I will be far from alone in that. It's often, but not always obvious when people do it, and it's bad form. We all have our vices of course. Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned it.

In the thread in question, I mentioned events happening that week; the court case of the woman stabbed to death in Walsall and questioned why many on here get furious over comments about adverts that someone rightly apologised for, but have almost nothing to say about far more serious events. I posted the comment to Tuerto because he started talking about racism in relation to the TV adverts comments, but had little to say in the threads about the mass racist rape on young women. I pointed that out. It was rude of me, it was whataboutery, but it's still a question I don't understand the answer to.

I am genuinely interested why people do get so worked up on some things and not others. Genuinely now, I would love to know, because having looked again at the grooming gang thread on here, several are downplaying it.

I do abhor racism. I object strongly to identity politics because it amplifies differences and will only drive us apart. I do think a lot of the rhetoric from the left fuels division, just like much on the right does, and it frustrates me that people don't see it.

Cyril - you calling out the bile of others would be more sincere if not written in defence of someone who constantly pours abuse on here. As for the people I'm question, I am not sure who Goslow is. LOM I assume crossed a line and was banned? I recollect some outrage but never saw the post(s) in question. Native Hipster is a name I recognise. Was he the one who said something about Hitler? Again, I can't recollect. I have called out several examples of antisemitism on here in recent weeks as well.

Thanks for your post, but Sludge remains a liar. Asking why someone gets more upset over apologised comments about TV adverts than grooming gang scandals is not racist or far-right and tbh, I think you know that.
