we're always told that the markets like consistency and predictability, yet USA trade policy feels like it's being set by a wheel of fortune at the moment.
I wonder what tomorrow will bring
Texas megachurch founder Robert Morris indicted in Oklahoma on five counts over alleged misconduct in 1982
The Texas megachurch founder and pastor Robert Morris has been indicted on five criminal counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child, from incidents that occurred in Oklahoma in the 1980s.
-
Morris was a member of Donald Trump’s spiritual advisory committee and Evangelical Executive Advisory Board during his first presidential term and part of an effort to mobilize conservatives and evangelicals in support of Trump’s 2024 presidential bid. He also hosted an appearance by Trump at Gateway church in June 2020.
“So I want to thank Pastors Robert Morris and Steve Dulin. They’re great people,” Trump said at the appearance in 2020. Dulin, an elder at the church, resigned following an internal investigation of the abuse and how the church handled it. “Great people with a great reputation. I have to say that. Great reputation. And Gateway church – the team has been incredible in hosting us.”

So, common courtesy doesn't exist in your world because everybody could potentially be an undiscovered rapist, pedo, murderer, etc?
Of course the Don didn't know who he was cuddling up to!
Of course he didn't.
He didn't?
Maybe more about judgement and selected bed fellows than 'common courtesy'?
I'm guessing there are far more undiscovered wrong uns than those who have already been discovered, so what is the solution? Abandon civil society and move to a low trust society where everybody is guilty until proved innocent? Or maybe they should just make points scoring a criminal offence

A certain section of pundits and thinkers seem to be ok with spreading unsubstantiated stories about democrats and liberal elites engaging in child trafficking and indecency.
Don't seem to like actual incidents being discussed when it's about their team!
Everything else aside, it is staggering that the President of the USA openly talking about annexing a NATO territory is met by a collective shrug nowadays. The Canada talk is easier to shrug off, I don't think even he would invade Canada. But sending more and more soldiers to Greenland is something I can absolutely see him doing and I'm wondering at what point, if anybody, someone says no to him

I just don't think people believe it. It's part of policy to disrupt and rearrange things. One assumes as part of some global thinking, but who knows.
Tbf I can see why people despair at the the shrugging of shoulders to some of Trump's tweets, but I do think people can overeact to them too. He will normally tweet something contradictory within 24 hours so just need to wait a little.

I'm very sure that this is not how politicians and intelligence agencies in those and other countries see it.
