  • Re: The Donald Trump thread

Meanwhile a month as passed since the US Congress deadline for releasing all the Epstein files.

Almost all of them remain unreleased.

Of course this must be the top news item in the US and around the world? It isn’t? The ‘news agenda’ (tame, fawning and ignored) is dominated by Venezuela, Greenland, tariffs, ICE goons on murder sprees, threats of the army being sent into major US cities (ICE and National Guard need help!), Mickey Mouse peace prizes and priority asylum status to white South Africans and (some) UK Jewish people. Add in the poster from The Usual Suspects to explain the big ‘plan’ for Gaza and someone uncharitable might think there is a big deflection operation underway!

Maybe he'll come down with a bad case of nappy rash and give the rest of the world a rest for a while?

Trump wants a signing ceremony for his so-called "Board of Peace" at the World Economic Forum in Davos !

That Trump letter to the Norwegian PM is right up there in the worst things he's said. I don't subscribe to the endless anti Trump stuff for a number of reasons. I have always viewed him as a pretty obnoxious character whom I wouldn't like in person but seen his decisions in the context of making tough, but perhaps necessary decisions.

In that context I get the importance of Greenland and the validity of "securing" it, in conjunction with allies and of course the Greenlandic and Danish people. That's possible. You invest in Greenland, let them know their importance etc, instead of threats.

Him mentioning the Nobel peace prize, (which he couldn't win as the decisions were pre Gaza ceasefire anyway) is pure unadulterated narcissism

The anti Trump stuff is “endless” because he wants it that way,

Trump’s main motivations are self enrichment and a losing effort to satisfy his planet sized ego and he’s not bothered about how much consternation he causes for so called ordinary people along the way.

What are the other reasons other than him making tough, perhaps necessary decisions? Also what are the tough, perhaps necessary decisions he has made that find favour with you?

I would recommend reading the book entitled 'Too Much and Never Enough' by Mary L. Trump.
The authoress is a trained clinical psychologist and Donald Trump's only niece.
It's a real eye-opener and puts his behaviour very well in context.

I'm usually all over stuff like this but come on man, 3 months before a presidential election? I had you down as an erudite gentleman of sound mind, however you may have dropped the ball on this one old chap.

                      Conclusion: D- must try harder!

To repeat what I said just now in another thread, why don’t you accept your poster boy is a dangerous lunatic?

                          Look away now, James!

The Trump administration has a Nazi problem....

To be clear: this isn’t about calling everyone the left disagrees with a Nazi, as Trump administration spokespersons like to claim; it’s about recognizing when actual Nazis are not just right in front of us but in power. So here’s a simple rule for Trump and his friends: if you don’t want to be called Nazis, stop hiring Nazis, quoting Nazis and posting Nazi imagery.

Not only that. But Mehdi Hasan in the guardian. Waste of time,

Still, got the article shared amongst the already converted and got those advertising revenue in. What's a little division along the way?!

These are disgraceful comments tonight: just historically totally inaccurate.

The US president says Nato troops stayed "a little off the front lines" - despite 457 UK military deaths in the conflict.
