Others linked like Shankland, Riis and van Hooijdonk are all better footballers.

I'd pass on Kaba, although he would be better than nothing

Strikers tend to move in the last week of the window. They are the true currency of the transfer market. Just like Robinson a couple seasons ago, I would expect a striker to be our last signing and for our highest fee paid.

This should be a thing for deadline day - players can only sign for teams if they can reach them by hot air balloon before 11pm.

It's because the three cities are joined by a straight line on a map that uses the Mercator projection. Any prospective player can simply tell the chap navigating his aircraft to start at one end and steer a steady course in order to cover all three options.

This should be a thing for deadline day - players can only sign for teams if they can reach them by hot air balloon before 11pm.

Signing suspended players is of limited value. And there's inflation to be considered as well.

Echo and the Bunnymen once did a tour based on ley-lines however it is unclear if Hot Air balloon was the chosen mode of transport.

Whenever a player is linked with us, why do internet websites nearly always seem to mention that Hull and Birmingham as being interested too?

Speaking of Hull..... have you noticed that, unusually, the river it's located on determines its abbreviated title rather than the settlement name that precedes it?
