By no means a classic by a long, long way but, weirdly, compelling viewing. The melt down by a genuine legend was something to witness. Pelanties now, so even more drama to come.

Got to be the best goalkeeping performance in Euro Championship history.
Almost 2 hrs with very little to do, then makes a match saving block from Pepe’s error, then 3 brilliant saves in a row to get his team into the Qtrs.

There's narcissism and then there's Ronaldo. I can't stand Portugal whilst he's in the team let alone wearing the captain's armband. Those free-kicks tonight were a disgrace tbh. I lost count as to how many he took.

This tournament has rapidly gone downhill in excitement. Nice the there's two big ties but they rarely live up to expectation, hoping Austria and the Netherlands progress and have a repeat of their group stage game.

It's as if the script writers have been on a mega tease, but ensured the boring favourites still manage to sneak through.

Very disappointing.... and often tedious.

Defence wins international championships (usually). They don't have a lot of time together so perhaps it's all about defensive shape and being difficult to break down? Then hoping one of your stars pulls something out of the bag. Dull though. 8 days until the first pre-season game and we can focus on our own dullness once more.

Two own goals and a penalty for France so far in the competition - the two pre tournament favourites have been very uninspiring, but they’re both into the last eight.

Whilst watching the game in an animated Belgian bar I was introduced to a local beer, which was pretty potent....
