        Why is it poor?

Spot on. I have a feeling that Collins was going to be second choice behind O'Dowda, anyway. Bagan, Giles and Tom Davies competing for third choice is not sloppy. I'd be amazed if we signed a left back.

It is poor. But you would know more about that than us. Youth? Conditioning? Fitness? Training too hard? I'd be very interested to hear your opinion.

I'd know as much as you in all honesty. My time (Brief and without much impact) was a long time ago. I did two pre seasons, and they were nothing like they are now and the quality is better now, but even back then we were told to hold back a bit, especially players who relied on bursts of pace, in terms of muscle strains, tears etc. I just get this feeling that Bulut likes the players to go at it, which risks injury, especially at this time of year when they're not completely fit, in terms of match fitness. My opinion is based on what eeryone else can see, but three players out, two for quite a bit of time? doesn;t sit right with me,

Me neither. My guess is that in pre-season, some players try to push themselves too hard to impress. But that is something the club should be aware of. In my opinion, fitness/conditioning should be independent of the coach/manager. I don't know if you ever watched the podcast that Steve Morison was on, was a real eye-opener for me (and him). I remember that he said training with Wales was on a different level. I think he got pulled from training because the Wales coaches said he was only at 80% and he could only train at 80%. I'm paraphrasing, but it was something like that.

But you can't really say it is poor without knowing what the injuries are,, how they were caused etc. Perhaps you have seen this, I hacen't

Players have to start having a go during the friendles, otherwise there is little point, although you are right in saying they need to be careful.

And there have been many many cases where player have taken it easy and still had injuries.

As we all know its a contact sport. You are often going to get a run of bad injuries. And what seems an slight contact can often cause a bad injury.

I do not disagree with the view that sometimes medical and coaching staff get it wrong at clubs, but I would hesitate calloing it poor management without more knowledge.

All i'm going on is the fact the pre season is the preparation stage of the season, even when it's done the players aren't where they want to be, well most aren't. In terms of preparation, three long term injuries is a bit shit. You have your thoughts and you might be right, but i don't think it's wrong to question the situation

Some injuries are freaks and cannot be prevented. A lot of soft tissue injuries however should be preventable and we have an absolute shit load of them. We also have a lot of players getting fit and rehab doesn’t go well or they suffer a reoccurrence. Something isn’t right.

Isaak. Davies’ injury happened during a game in fairly harmless looking circumstances, but it looked serious straight away,I don’t think it had anything to do with how City train. Can’t comment on the other two except to say Etete was in his best scoring run with us in September of last year when he suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out for a month and it seems to me he’s never quite been free of hamstring injuries since then, he’s missed the last couple of months of last season and has broken down again after two or three friendlies now, did he come back too early?

Simple answer - he is having a medical today and due to sign in next couple of days. Why all the fuss ?

He’s regarded as one of the most promising talents at Liverpool in years. If you are playing PL games for Liverpool at 17 you’ve obviously got some talent.

They are letting him out on loan this season to get some experience and Brentford have now joined Southampton and Leicester in trying to sign him according to reports in the weekend.
