  • Giving Siopis Grief

    People are missing the point

He's fine in that just in front of the back four position

It's the attacking midfield and front runners where we need a bit of action

Of course they are and yet some people on here criticised him after Saturday when he was arguably our best player.

    Just weird.

He wasn't too bad, O'Dowda and Willock played quite well too.

From what i have seen of him he's a busy bee. His job is to break the play up and give the ball to more creative players, which means that his passing range isn't going to be that complex. If he does his job and others do theirs then there shouldn't be a problem. People continually moaning about him passing the ball sideways are a bit ****ing special if they don't really understand his role in the team. They might as well take a swipe at Goutas for not going on Mazey dribbles. Be critical by all means, but atleast criticise the things in a players job description. That's not to say that i rate him, i don't really have much of an opinion on him.

He runs around like a headless chicken, too short to win any aerial challenges too lightweight to win any physical challenges, apart from that he's marvellous.

Trouble is as enforcers go he may well be the smallest in world football, which is of course part of the charm

                  Re: Giving Siopis Grief

I like him, I like all of our players - we've definitely had worse squads than this at this level.

we just need a more attacking approach and to be braver in possession.
theres definitely a place for a player like siopis if alongside a different type of player

Siopis is the root of our problems

He dwells on the ball and then passes it sideways to his mate Goutas to look for a forward pass.

I always thought that the centre backs were supposed to pass to the so called better ball playing midfielders to start the forward momentum. If he avoids this option he passes square to someone else or directly to the opposition

The way Siopis plays is like an extra centre back and leaves the other 2 midfielders short handed.

His only way of tackling is recklessly diving in. If he misses he creates a huge problem

I know he is a defensive midfielder but you still expect during course of the season an odd goal or assist from your defensive midfielder. Bulut is quick to attack Colwill for not defending, why isn't Siopis criticised for not being creative

I'd prefer it if we kept and played wintle in that position and offloaded Siopis

Boland , Bonner never did much , broke up play in the middle

                        I don't think he's Messi

Because colwill is clearly a very talented and intelligent all round footballer

He's more than capable of mucking in then dropping his shoulder and he's back up the pitch

Siopis is a limited footballer and you can't teach an old dog new tricks
