Didnt think it would happen but will be interesting next summer. Sounds like just london and manchester- and glastonbury.
Tickets will sell in seconds. Amazing how many teenagers love oasis. Probably because big real bands dont exist now for the youngsters (below 30 but nobody who uses this board is under 30)

A 4th rate Beatles wanna-be band, fronted by an arrogant average singer, and a charisma free guitarist and song-writer. I wouldn't cross the road to see them if they were playing for free in my local pub.

That's why an average mundane band with a run of the mill guitarist who happens to be a not very good singer, can sell out the Principality Stadium. Please step forward the Foo Fighters! Thank feck I am old enough to have seen some of the truly greats at their prime!

Every generation always says theirs was the golden generation.

However maybe that has ended now? People from 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s maybe even 00s would argue they had it best for music in their day. However Will young people growing up now be arguing this is the golden generation in years to come? Maybe i really dont know.

But been watching reading festival which is for the teenagers isnt it. Who are the headliners and stars? Blink 182, liam gallagher and prodigy. Crazy.

Dave Grohl is a superb guitarist , drummer and bassist

I think the foo fighters first 4 albums were immense but not for me these days

I was sat there at the recent Principality concert, and quite frankly I was bored to tears. I kept comparing them to some of the true greats that I have been fortunate enough to have seen at their prime, bands and artists like Bad Company, Thin Lizzy, Hawkwind (in their many guises), Budgie, Rainbow (with Dio), Patti Smith, The Ramones, Hanoi Rocks, The Cramps etc etc. I left before the end to wander down to Caroline Street to get some chips and curry sauce, as you do.

Oh, and before J R Hartley, explodes with impotent rage, I was on the guest of the support act Wet Leg, who I much preferred, so didn't have to pay for my ticket.

Finally, why aren't the Foo Fighters for you these days? Have your musical tastes got heavier?

Arguing about music taste is like arguing about taste of food.

However i thought foo fighters were great and wet leg were terrible.

I think I read somewhere that, since 2020, artists that could be described as a 'band' have spent 2 weeks at number 1 in the chart. One of those was a band with 2 dead members and a remastered cassette vocal....

I can't say I've ever been the greatest lover of bands and particularly heavy guitar music really grates on me. Having said that I've had fun listening to some local bands, particularly if mates of mine have been playing. I do like the idea that kids can get together, try and make some music, which will be shit for years, but gets better. Occasionally one of these bands does well. Some keep going for years. I think we lose something from our society if this doesn't happen any more. It's all too easy to knock up a crappy tune on a pc nowadays and lockdown must have had an impact.

So, yes there's a lack of good bands and I wonder if we will ever see a comeback?

As for Oasis, I don't really have an opinion on them. Let people enjoy the music they like. I don't understand the whole liking other bands or guitarists because they're supposed to be "better musicians". Sounds like a bit of snobbery to me.

Foo Fighters first few albums great , don't think they are coming out with anything new these days imo

I think you are stuck in a time zone with regard to those bands , most of whom were good but had their time in the sun

Same with Oasis , what are they going to bring to the party now ?

I knew as soon as Noel announced he was getting divorced it wouldn’t be long.

Reading yesterday they could make 50m each. Not bad for an average singer and charisma free songwriter.

Well the great guitarists or drummers or whatever are all about the sound , not how difficult it is to play
