He hasn't got much to work with has he, it's a tough job for sure.

Clearly trying to find a new goalie with Darlow coming in, but he's not played much in the last few years either.

Any gk's coming through have a decent chance of future international caps, whatever division they are in.

I love how the article says Darlow has now committed his international future to Wales, at 33.

I don't understand why Ryan Hedges never gets a look in. Still only 29 and playing regularly for Blackburn.

                Re: Bellamy's first Wales squad

This doesn’t look too promising !!!!

In addition to England, Darlow is eligible to represent Wales as his grandfather Ken Leek (a Wales international forward) was born in Ynysybwl. The Football Association of Wales confirmed Darlow had declined an invitation to be included in the Wales national football team friendly match against Austria on 6 February 2013.[37]
New Wales Manager Ryan Giggs approached Darlow in March 2018 to be included in the Wales squad. Darlow advised he was currently concentrating on winning back his place in the Newcastle United starting line-up.[38] In November 2020 Darlow stated his ambition to play for England, saying: "It’s the one thing that as a child you want to do" and "I would love nothing more".[39]
Darlow was called up to the Wales senior squad for the first time for the Nations League matches against Turkey and Montenegro in September 2024.[40]

Pretty devasting for colwill that. Cullen cooper, matando, harris koumas all jumped ahead of him now.

That's a big call from bellamy but interesting to see such a strong judgement re colwill.

I'm sure izaak would have been in the squad though.

Nah. When you listen to bellamy talk about the game no surprise to me at all he'd rather have mark harris than colwill.

Not saying he's right or wrong but with bellamy in charge we will see a team with a clear intent and structure. It may not work but it won't be a mess like it was under page and city have been for years.

Bellamy is someone who can clearly make strong judgements re players and who he wants.

We've all been crying out for someone to make a strong call re colwill at city for years and years. Either back him play him 10 and make him the main man or make the call and move him on.

I would actually be happy with either approach but the current situation is ridiculous and unfair on colwill himself. It wouldn't happen at a club with a clear plan and identity.

Colwill has played under mick, morison, hudson, sabri, bulut and they have all pretty much treated him in exactly the same way. None have clearly really liked him and none have discarded him.

I just couldn't imagine malky or warnock being in the same situation. Because they were strong managers who backed their judgement and had success. City haven't had a good manager since warnock and several awful managers before that and the treatment of likes of colwill, harris, eli king, kieron evans and many many more shows how weak managers they all are.
