  • Bellamy, If Only?………Maybe.

After last night’s quite impressive approach to the game after only having the players at his disposal since last Monday, what do we reckon if we could have nabbed him? Turkey aren’t a bad side, given their recent tournament performance, and we more than matched them, bettered them actually. If our board had buried hatchets, bit the bullet and convinced him to manage us prior to Page’s dismissal how different our season’s start may have been after a full pre season under Bellamy.

Will it be a double edged sword for us City/Wales fans? There’s no doubt that Bellamy is football obsessed and is a massive student of the game. Success with the National side may mean him eventually moving on to much more attractive clubs than us………on the other hand, should last night prove to be a false dawn and things turn out grim (something that’s been touted, mainly due to the ageing and retirement of most of the 2016 ‘galacticos:hehe:’), would his early star fade?

Purely on last night’s performance, bit daft after one game I know, I think, nationally, we’re on to a good thing. Club wise hmmmmm.

Watching that last night, we said something similar afterwards, if only we had Bellamy

 ..yeah. With you on this. A lot of people I spoke to last night felt the same way. Bellamy at Cardiff would have been something. Oh well. Another dream shattered. :ohwell:

You know people have been suffering when a nil nil with one shot on target is so well thought of.

Early days for bellamy though i'm confident he will be successful, relative to Wales' ambitions of course.

First half hour I felt we were good, didn't do enough beyond that though, particularly with the extra man.

        Looking forward to Monday.

I’ve always been very pro Bellamy, but know others are the exact opposite. The whole interview is good (apart from the Turkish translation🤣) but at about 9:30 he explains how he wants players to play.be interesting to hear if that changes or confirms how people feel about him.

Really? I was under the impression that Bellamy had shown no interest in coming to City.

The bloke was managing our youth teams for a while, I imagine there was some interest

"For a while". You mean until he got the boot under embarrassing circumstances? Would you want to go back to that?

There is plenty of talent coming through the age-group teams, and I think he's got on board just at the right time

                        Re: Bellamy, If Only?………Maybe.

Wasn't Bellamy sacked over some 'anti-English' comment which was overheard by a young apprentice from Bristol and was apparently traumatized by it?

TBH this is the type of incident which could have been handled better. Surely an apology at a face-to-face meeting would have cleared things up.

However, the fall out was we lost an exceptionally good member of our coaching squad, and I don't think he will be returning to Cardiff City anytime soon

Depends what you consider embarrassing circumstances? Was the young player in question too sensitive? We don't know. What I do know is we should have handled it better but we're a basket case club so no surprise the way it was handled.

How can you know it was handled badly if you don't know what happened? Mad statement

Who's the former apprentice playing for now?
