Cardiff City Football Club are delighted to announce the loan signing of Will Alves from Leicester City, subject to international clearance.

Will is a 19-year-old winger and England youth international, where he previously worked with City boss Omer Riza. He joins the Bluebirds until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Alves made his first Premier League appearance for the Foxes against Manchester United at the end of December 20224.

Speaking about his new signing, Omer said: "Will is very powerful. He’s quick and has a great attitude. He’s a hungry player, has an aggression to want to run at players and get beyond the opposition.

"We’ve needed that a little bit and I'm glad he can now add that to our team."

Will added: "I’m buzzing and really excited. It’s a big Club to come to and I’m excited for the challenge ahead.

"I’m a creative player and I like to cause the opposition problems. This is an important experience for me. I want to kick on now."

Will is City's third signing of the winter transfer window, joining Yousef Salech and Sivert Mannsverk at Cardiff City Stadium.

good news for us if he is, as surely he wouldn't join us if we were going down this season

Are we done? We rarely go for a late signing.

Dafydd Pritchard from BBC Wales reckons that's it as it stands

BBC tend to know a bit more than WalesOnline etc, pretty sure they broke the Mannsverk & Salech deals

Even if no-one else is coming in, Reindorf's loan hasn't been confirmed yet, and is Collins staying?

I've only seen it mentioned by idiots on Twitter who like to pretend they're in the know so far, which suggests to me that there's zero chance if that happening

That’s a spoof account, seems to have netted hundreds of people

Reindorf loan to Bristol Rovers now confirmed.

That's 4 of our players at League One clubs now.

that's a much better situation than a few years ago when it was the Welsh league or non league at best. it's uo to them to make an impact now.

I don't think Swansea fans are particularly happy with their transfer window:

Thousands and thousands of Swansea City followers were expecting positve action with so many players linked to the club on deadline day morning. In the end we saw no permanent signings and a desperate scramble to save face late on in the day.

did they replace Grimes after? I've not seen who they're actually signed
