    Re: Fleetwood Mac

Rumours is an iconic album and taking into account what went on behind the scenes, I doubt an album like that could be made today. It is of it's time, and Fleetwood Mac are a great band, but not my favourite.

For me Rumours is an album with no fillers, once the needle hits the vinyl, it doesn't get lifted until the side has finished and is ready for the 2nd side. edit, my record deck has been in my bedroom for 18 months unused!!!

I've got a CD collection of several hundred albums and I don't actually own anything that will actually play them.

It's still one of my favourite albums, but musically I took the punk/post-punk road

No PC/laptop? You can get a USB CD/DVD player quite cheap these days. I ripped all my CD's to FLAC and I have a decent digital music setup.

Once you try spatial headphone compensation it's hard to go back, as you can place yourself in a perfect listening environment.

No. While very successful, they're not particularly important or influential.

Can't agree with that. Chain was the famous F1 theme music and Romours sold 40 million copies, one of which I have. Fantastic band.

influential bands and artists .Hendrix,Dylan,Beatles Stones ,Kinks, rory Gallagher,Peter Green.
I've never owned or played any music by the American version of Fleetwood mac.
Maybe they should have called themselves the new Fleetwood mac just like the New Seekers.

I said they were very successful. And I agree, they've written some great songs. But in the grand scheme of things they're not very important. Of the whole band, Stevie Nicks is the most influential and that's only because of her clothes.
