I've never owned or played any music by the American version of Fleetwood mac.
Maybe they should have called themselves the new Fleetwood mac just like the New Seekers.
They took their name from Mick Fleetwood & John McVie who were still in the band.

Name me some indie pop bands that you think were influenced by them?

As for selling out stadiums, so have lots of totally utterly shite bands and artists (especially the more dreadful 'pop' acts) played, if not sold out, venues like Wembley Stadium.

18 different people have been in the band, so the Rumours iteration would have been known as the New, New, New, New, New, New Fleetwood Mac

                Re: Fleetwood Mac

I've always regarded them as three different bands. I'm a big fan of the Peter Green era. The Buckingham/Nicks era I can take or leave. I have a couple of their albums and greatest hits, but I really have to be in the mood for it, which is not often.

But people forget, maybe don't even realise about the six albums that were made in-between these two eras, which saw various line up changes. This era is patchy too, but there's some good stuff in there that I prefer to the Buckingham/Nicks era.
