I have a mate like you
Never went out with women or had a drink in 12 years, ate 3 meals a day and took a solid hours exercise every day and hardly watched any TV

Mind you that all changed when he got released 😁

yeah used to watch loads, with my ex wife she used to watch all sorts of shite, which meant I was watching it too. EastEnders , Corrie, whatever singing or dancing shows etc all of it just a load of shite
        - then when I got divorced I binge watched a couple of shows but then just couldn't be arsed getting into any more.
now I'm remarried and neither of us watch much TV. if she does it's liked in Chinese so I won't follow much anyway

Havent watched " Live TV " for maybe 10 years, we stream it though, Netflix ( daughter pays for this ) , Disney Plus and Discovery plus as subs ( though Disc + is a new one to watch a specific series and I will cancel this month )

To be fair, you’re a cultural desert. Top notch when it comes to football, utterly hopeless if it’s music, film or TV. 🤣

As for Adolescence, I thought it was very good overall. Thought-provoking, genuinely gripping at times and some of the acting was brilliant.

I did think the final episode was a bit weak, though. The scene at the DIY store went over the top and was out of keeping with the tone of the rest of the story. That seemed a bit daft to me. I wasn’t concerned by the fact that we didn’t get a trial, but I thought the final episode just wasn’t as good as the others.

I’m the same, seldom watch TV
We have all the channels, maybe there is too much choice.
I do watch quite a bit of Travel and DIY Vlogs on YouTube.

I have been enjoying Reacher mind, probably the first TV show that I have watched in a few years.

The Mrs has just started watching Adolescence, I’ll see what she says then maybe give it a go.

It got me to thinking that a massive % of TV reviews in this country seem to be for streaming channels that many people don’t have. A few years ago there were a few flagship programmes (mainly original dramas) surrounded by dross. That has changed in recent times.

There are 28.4 million households in the UK and 17 million have Netflix (7.6 million have Disney). So I am in the minority - though we do have Prime, Apple and Paramount (free with Prime).

The days of everyone sharing the same televisual experience (with no more than four channels) is long gone.
I’ll have you know sonny, that back when this was all fields, we only had 3 channels, a TV was as heavy as a washing machine, you had to put 50p in the slot to make it work, at midnight it all closed down, finishing with God save the queen, and some young girl would appear cuddling a clown till breakfast time !!

                    Re: Adolescence - Netflix

Barely watch TV and I really must cancel my Netflix subscription as I haven’t watched anything on it for months. These days I just watch stuff on You Tube and the occasional box set.

Heard a lot about Adolescence, but have had no desire to watch it - after reading this thread, maybe I’ll give it a try.

We used to dream of having a cardboard box.

I was a bit disappointed you didn't get the trial and the victims family's side of the story.

I only have the TV licence. Get by on normal TV, the iPlayer and YouTube, which has all the documentaries and sport highlights you can shake a stick at.

Don't get why people have all the different apps. You just spend the evening scrolling through the same shite you chose not to watch the day previous.

It is a bit annoying if there's a big programme like this, but in those cases you can normally find a way.

I may get Netflix again tbf, cos I cancelled it a year or so again. Wouldn't bother with more than that though.
