The Northern Counties East and the Isthmian League South East are perhaps not quite so impressive.

I don't think Paul is still with the Jersey Bulls - he doesn't feature in their squad on their website, so who knows where's he's playing if at all?

You'd like to think the club has learned its lessons and is now a tad more professional than it was back in 2019.

The thing is, Jack McKay was instrumental is getting Emiliano Sala on that plane and he was a Cardiff City player/employee at the time.

It's an element of the story that rarely gets mentioned.

There are loads of things stipulated in a players contract in order to negate risk or injury. Can't ride a motorbike, can't participate in other sports etc. Loads of things. You would have thought that the club insisted on a commercial flight for sala, as shit as this sounds, he was a 15 million pound asset. People import expensive cars from abroad and they have a tracking app, they can see where the vehicle is, which container it is in etc. This was a human being we're talking about, he shouldn't have been given a choice on travel arrangements.

That's what you would have thought, but given the set-up at the club at the time, well...

The ‘set up’ seemed to be that Warnock was running the show. A rat in charge of the cheese larder.

I think it's fair to say a flight on a private aircraft, particularly from a French airport wouldn't automatically set off many alarm bells.

In hindsight we are dissecting it but insurance wise and as far as the club is concerned it's never going to be the same as allowing Sala to suddenly start a fight club or take up parkour.

Clubs not allowing players to drive sports cars would be far more reasonable but I doubt that happens.

I always thought the same , the issue with the whole flight was mainly the fact that the agent used a pilot who was not qualified to fly at night.

The club used this plane before without any other incidents apparently.

Jack is now playing for Doncaster City. Paul is playing for the Jersey Bulls.

How did they end up at Cardiff City as 21 year-olds in 2018 when the club was pushing for promotion to the Premier League? Interesting question...
theres a link to Warnock .........

Correction: the banned agent had apparently used this plane operator before to ferry club employees over to France and back.

Incidentally, a couple of days ago I watched an interview with Warnock from the time of the tragedy in which he suggested he'd been talking to Sala and in negotiations to sign him for eight weeks prior to the accident. Interesting that no objections seem to have been raised by the club about Nantes' choice of agents during that period. I wonder why?

Probably don’t need to work after pocketing a million each for that fateful transfer…..no history of being agents but still got a life changing sum didn’t they?
