I thought that it has closed down and was now under the banner of Mike Ashley's online empire, specifically when Howells (House of Fraser) closed down.

Store is still Flannels but yea it's all under Frasers now. I was the only person in there earlier, same when I later went to Slaters. Hate looking around places like that being the only one :hehe:.

Before st David's 2 opened, they had all the top price jeweller's there and nice cafés upstairs.
Of course the main attraction was Virgin records

The gadget shop and virtual reality were in there, two of the best stores in town for a kid. And yeah a virgin. And a Jaeger later I think. Used to have some nice shops. Did it have a food hall too? Or was that queen's west? And yeah there was an odeon in there. I hadn't realised that had closed actually.

But I loved virtual reality. Little computer games shop. They had a virtual reality headset game thing, which was pretty incredible for 1992 or whenever it was.

Sad to see what it's become, but it's inevitable really. I fear the high street is in terminal decline and on top, the centre of town has shifted away from there.

I'm going back a long time. It was on the corner of Park Place.

And I was right. Austin Reed on Queen Street closed a long time ago. They went bust in 2016.

Made a bit of a fool of yourself once more. Should have stuck to your frame-by-frame screenshots showing footballers defying the laws of physics.

The Hari Krishna guys had a vegetarian cafe at one point. The veggie curry was delicious

Wasn’t Austin Reed on the corner of Windsor Place? A Poundshop type store was there recently.

There was a Benetton bottom of that arcade mid/late 90's?

The Central Bar ('spoons) is the only reason to go that end of town now.

Benetton was the castle end of Queen St. Think you're thinking about Queens West? That place was knocked up in the 80s i think, I'm sure BHS was where superdrug is now. Upstairs was a food arcade that was tiered, i remember meeting a girl from school there and she suggested a 'Spud u like' (not a euphemism, sadly) needless to say it didn't last.
