Absolutely outrageous. That's like £60 for a return from Cardiff to Bridgend or thereabouts.

    Disgraceful
Trains only running from Boston as well.
No services from Providence which is the same distance and will have 10’s of thousands of fans staying there.

Apparently this is because the trains for after the game will be idling on the tracks between Providence and the stadium.

You’d think 8 years of heads up would be enough warning to sort out such an issue, but it seems America is allergic to investing in public transport.

I don't understand why they would do anything different to a Patriots game, and perhaps put on the odd extra train or run them for longer etc? How can they manage to fk it up?! No one likes feeling ripped off

        Indeed. Capitalism at its finest.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino says he will "personally bring a hot dog and a Coke" to anyone who buys a World Cup final ticket for $2m.

Imagine paying £2 million for the ticket and having this cuunt turn up with a hot dog.

Handy only if you intended throwing him out of the executive box.

The idea that the US economy is in good shape is a myth. You've major tech companies cycling funds driven by AI that's artificially inflating the economy. Outside of that, it's flat

Bit daft comparing it to a college game, American football I presume. It’s like us comparing prices with Cardiff rugby. Different thing altogether.

Who thinks the American economy is in good shape? Prices are outrageous. And wages have not kept up with inflation. It cost me $116 to fill up my car today and then I spent another $150 picking up a few things at the supermarket. Everyone I know is feeling the pinch.

It's doing better than the UK, I can assure you.

The US debt is irreparable, so they are printing money at a massive scale to try to inflate it away. Wage earners will feel the pinch. It will be the shareholders and asset holders that get richer and richer, and the gap between the rich and poor will grow even bigger.

There are plenty of Americans who can afford those prices and fill those stadiums.

But surely the idea of a WORLD cup is for fans of all competing nations to be able to afford to go and support their country.

Yes, it's sad, but that's the real hard World. It will mostly be the relatively wealthy following their teams, or people prepared to take out loans or make financial sacrifices to stretch to do it.

There are a lot more wealthy Americans than wealthy people in the UK, and they will be able to afford to swallow up any unfilled seats. Whether they like football enough, though I'm not sure.

And we now live in an age whereby many people in audiences have very little interest in what they are supposed to be watching but do it to display on social media. I am peace-loving old fruit who has never instigated a fight in his life but I was in the second row at a Santana gig (and being a huge fan of his earlier period) when the person in front of me just wanted to seemingly film it all on his mobile and obscuring my view completely. I gave him a minute or two, bit my, tongue and let him go on a bit longer. However, I eventually snapped and told him that if he didn't stop immediately I would shove his mobile when the sun don't shine.
